South Australian hotels are renowned for their excellence. In fact, SA boasts some of the best pubs in Australia. They provide patrons with great meals, service and accommodation. Our hotels are the perfect place to socialise, to be entertained, to relax and enjoy living. Hoteliers and staff can quite rightly be proud of the facilities and services they offer.
To recognise and celebrate the achievements of hotels in SA, the AHA|SA Hotel Industry Awards for Excellence are conducted on an annual basis.
One of the traditional events on the industry calendar was the charity dinner dance. In the early 1990s, it was replaced by a gala dinner at which the Hotel Industry Awards for Excellence are presented. The event regularly attracts in excess of 800 people.
The awards recognise excellence in all aspects of hotels, including bar presentation and service, gaming, bottle-shops, redevelopments, live music and community service and support. If a hotel is deemed worthy by the judges, it is awarded the title of Hotel of the Year.
Only financial members of the AHA|SA are eligible to enter for the awards.
It is a condition of entry that all winning submissions will be automatically entered into the AHA’s National Hotel Awards for Excellence.
The 2009 Winners were announced on Wednesday 1 July at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. For a full list of winners, click here.
The 2010 Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner will be held on Tuesday, 20 July at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Further details about this event to be released in early June.
