Early in 2019 the SA Government in conjunction with industry associations was successful in having a DAMA signed with the Federal Government for the whole of SA.  The AHA|SA was a part of these discussions as a DAMA may open up possibilities for our members to sponsor skilled overseas workers for positions they are unable to fill with local workers in occupations that are in high demand.

Immigration SA and the AHA|SA are now keen to gauge member interest in attending an information session on these DAMA’s to learn how the state’s skilled migration programs can address skills and labour shortages in South Australia’s Hospitality industry.  The session would provide an overview on the standard skilled visa programs, with a key focus being on the Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMA).

The session would explain

  • What exactly is a DAMA and how can it help your business
  • Benefits of a DAMA labour agreement
  • Who can sponsor workers
  • SA DAMA application process
  • Where to get assistance with applications

An overview of the DAMA is available by visiting: www.migration.sa.gov.au/dama

If you think a session would be of benefit please email Wendy Bevan (wbevan@ahasa.asn.au) and include your location. Should we have enough interest we will organise a session for you.
