The Fair Work Commission Wage Review Panel (Panel) has today handed down their decision in the 2019/2020 Annual Wage Review.

In a majority decision the Panel has determined to increase the National Minimum Wage and all modern award minimum wages by 1.75%.

The Panel has determined that there will be a staggered commencement date for different industries, taking into consideration the adverse impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We have provided the commencement date for various modern awards relevant to our membership below, noting that the increase applies from the first full pay period commencing on or after the date specified below:

1 November 2020

  • Clerks – Private Sector Award 2010
  • Miscellaneous Award 2020

1 February 2021

  • Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020
  • Restaurant Industry Award 2020
  • Amusement, Events and Recreation Award 2020
  • Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2010

Enterprise/Collective Agreements

Members who have an Enterprise/Collective Agreement in place will be affected if the wages in their agreement are less than the minimum rates in the relevant modern award as at the first full pay period commencing on or after the applicable commencement date of the increase.

The AHA|SA will provide more detailed information to Members in upcoming Member Updates and Newsletters including updated wage schedules in due course.
