This is in response to a 48-hour lockdown in greater Darwin due to Community Transmission in the Territory, the re-introduction of restrictions pertaining to venue density and capacity requirements in Perth and Brisbane, and lockdowns in Sydney.

They are:

  • Return to 1 person in 2sqm or 50% capacity across all areas of venue including outdoors.
  • Sit down consumption only indoors. Drinking or eating while seated only including seated at a bar. This does not affect standing to order from the bar, play ‘pool’ or darts or using TAB. It is ‘consumption’ that requires patrons to be seated.
  • Outdoor consumption remains unaffected by these new sit-down restrictions, but the 1 in 2sqm rule still applies.
  • No communal consumption facilities (buffets, smorgasbords etc)
  • No dancing or singing by audiences at indoor shows & dance floors are closed.
  • Functions and other gatherings within a Hospitality venue will be determined by the 1 in 2 formula.
  • Private functions held in halls, homes and non-licensed premises will be restricted to a max. of 150.
  • Gaming rooms capacity will be solely determined by 1 in 2 sqm rule, otherwise no change in restrictions.
  • COVID Management Plan’s required for events with >1000 people

SA Health have advised that new COVID Safe Plans reflecting the changes will be emailed to all venues.

We will let members know of any additional detail as soon as we are notified
